A jubilant miner has outed herself as one of a group of 20 friends who scooped Thursday night’s massive $53.3 million Powerball prize.

The mining mates at Kalgoorlie in Western Australia bought their tickets on a whim after work and decided to share the spoils.

“We were just joking around and said, ‘let us buy some tickets,” said the miner, who asked not to be named. “We never thought we’d win.”

After checking their numbers on the weekend, the group of friends was shocked to find they had all matched five numbers and the Powerball, netting them a collective $2.7 million each.

“We were all screaming and jumping up and down when we found out,” said the miner. “It still has not sunk in yet.”

After splitting the jackpot of $53.3 million evenly, each one from the lucky group took home a share of $2.7 million.

“We are all just so thrilled,” said the miner. “This is life-changing money, and we’re going to make the most of it.”

One of them shared, “You know how they say, one Powerball and I am out of here? Well, it is not true. I have known since the start of my shift, and I am still loading trucks. So yeah, there’s 18 at my work who are now millionaires.”

The group says they plan on using their winnings to pay off debt, travel, and help out family and friends.

The winning numbers in Thursday night’s Powerball draw were 10, 4, 12, 18, 2, 34, 7, and the Powerball was 7.

The lucky woman from the group of miners announced that she would not give up on her job. The hard-working lady decided to continue her career even after winning such a life-changing amount of money.
