In a bold move set to redefine the professional services landscape, global powerhouse Accenture has strategically acquired Australian SAP consultancy Bourne Digital, propelling them to the forefront of SAP digital transformation and positioning them for unparalleled growth.

Accenture, the global leader in professional services, has acquired Bourne Digital, an Australian SAP consultancy, for an undisclosed amount. With a team of 66 professionals based in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, Bourne Digital will join Accenture’s local SAP business group, which was previously strengthened by acquiring Zag, another SAP specialist.

Selim Ahmed, the founder and managing director of Bourne Digital, expressed his focus on further growth, stating, “By joining forces with Accenture, we have the opportunity to expand our offerings and deliver exceptional SAP digital transformation services throughout the region.”

Ahmed also emphasised the potential for innovative collaborations with clients, career advancement for their skilled professionals, and the reinforcement of Accenture’s leadership position in Australia.

Accenture’s Acquisition of Bourne Digital Unleashes Human-Centered Design Potential for Unprecedented Digital Transformation

Established by Ahmed in Sydney in 2015, Bourne Digital has garnered recognition, winning multiple SAP innovation awards. In 2019, it became the first SAP partner in the Australian market to introduce an ‘AppHaus’ dedicated to UX design and innovation. The consultancy specialises in assisting clients with developing and integrating digital and cloud solutions, employing a human-centred design approach.

Accenture stated that this latest acquisition, its twelfth across various business segments in the past four years, will enhance its SAP digital design and user experience capabilities.

It aims to enable clients, particularly those in the fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, health, travel, and resources sectors, to optimise their utilisation of SAP solutions. Australia, home to the world’s fourth-largest SAP user base, holds significant potential.

“In today’s disruptive times, organisations must rapidly digitise their business processes to foster creativity, competitiveness, and profitability,” commented Matt Coates, Accenture’s technology lead.

Peter Burns, the CEO of Accenture Australia and New Zealand, added, “Accenture’s extensive experience in large-scale technology transformations and Bourne Digital’s top talent and user-led design capabilities form a compelling force in the Australian market.”
