Adam Gilchrist Is Sitting Atop Cricket’s Rich List – But There’s a Problem You Need to Know About

Must Read

Adam Gilchrist, the richest cricketer in the world, may not be as successful as you think.

Adam Gilchrist, a wicketkeeper known for his swashbuckling style, has a net worth of $380 million higher than Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. However, there’s more to the story than meets the eye.

This week, a Twitter account called World Index – which has over 470,000 followers and is known for creating top 10 lists – released the hierarchy of the wealthiest athletes in the sport.

The Australian legend was ranked first with a lead of $170 million over Tendulkar, his fellow Indian icon MS Dhoni with $115 million, and Ricky Ponting with $75 million. However, the person who compiled the list made a significant error.

The mentioned Adam Gilchrist is the co-founder of F45 global fitness empire in Australia, which is currently struggling. He is at risk of having some of his assets seized due to Federal Court action taken by creditors trying to recover $10.8 million.

Gilchrist resigned as CEO of the gym chain on July 22 because the company’s share price had drastically decreased.

After the list was posted, Gilchrist, who is involved in cricket, clarified the situation through Twitter.

“A case of mistaken identity here, folks,” Gilchrist said on Twitter.

“If the founder of F45 played cricket, then the statement would be accurate. #doyurresearch #fakenews #yasafesachin.”

He also added that he was never involved in the list “in any capacity” and urged people to be more vigilant when presented with information.

It is clear that while Adam Gilchrist may be the richest cricketer in the world, Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni have a much more secure financial situation as they invest their money more wisely. The story serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough research when discussing others’ success.
