Finito App Launched to Help Smokers Quit Smoking Through Hypnosis

Brothers Chris and Alex Naoumidis founded tech startup Mindset Health in 2018. The brothers’ goal was to build their portfolio of digital apps designed to bring therapy using hypnosis to underserved communities with health conditions.

The Naoumidis brothers didn’t initially start in the health industry. They began with retail clothing but soon realised they wanted to do more to help the community. When they started Mindset Health, their goal was to “empower 1 billion people to improve their health by unlocking the power of the mind.”

The founders stated that they are often met with disbelief whenever they bring up the idea of hypnosis as a treatment method, which is why the brothers ensured that they provided evidence of the science, research and studies conducted to support their products.

The company developed the Nerva app. It was designed to help users manage their Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) through hypnosis. Nerva was followed by Evia, an app designed to help women in their menopause stage manage their symptoms.

Mindset Health then developed an app targeted at individuals who want to stop smoking. The brothers took Nerva and Evia and evolved them into Finito. According to a study conducted by the National Health Survey between 2020 and 2021, one in every ten Australians smoked daily.

Recent studies also determined that only 8% of adult smokers successfully quit of their own volition. Most reported that it took anywhere between six to 12 months and up to 30 attempts to quit smoking successfully.

Finito claims to be able to help smokers quit within a month, using hypnotherapy not just to address the habit but also to uncover the underlying reason these people started smoking in the first place.

The company claims that hypnotherapy may help smokers develop a new mindset toward their habit, allowing them to confront and realise the dangers of smoking. This would, in turn, cause them to stop seeing smoking as a pleasurable activity.

The app also offers other functions designed to assist the smoker in his journey to wellness. Finito is widely available in app stores, and people who would want to try the app can take a free quiz on the app’s website.
