To bolster its Corporate Finance leadership team, Pitcher Partners has promoted two employees to Partner: Liesl Malcolm and Stephen Craig—the duo are based out of Melbourne.

Pitcher Partners is an Australian accounting and advisory firm with over 1,500 employees and a network of offices across Australia. Its services include assurance, tax, and corporate finance advisory. Some of its recent corporate finance deals include advising on selling a A$600 million real estate portfolio and acting as an exclusive financial adviser to Australian Pharmaceutical Industries on its proposed A$835 million merger with Sigma Healthcare.

“We are proud to announce the promotion of Liesl Malcolm and Stephen Craig to partner,” said Andrew Smith, CEO of Pitcher Partners. “They are both outstanding leaders in their field and will be invaluable additions to our corporate finance team.”

Liesl Malcolm joined Pitcher Partners in 2007 after working at another professional services firm (PKF). Malcolm is a valuation specialist with over 30 years of experience and provides expert reports for transactions, litigation matters, financial reporting purposes, tax restructures, and employee equity valuations.

Malcolm expressed her excitement at her new career milestone, saying that she loves being able to guide clients through the valuation process and help them achieve a positive outcome. “It’s a gratifying part of my job,” she said. “I’m looking forward to my new role as a partner.”

Before Pitcher Partners, Stephen Craig practised at a boutique advisory firm focused on the mining and industry sectors before his employment. He works on both sides of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and the due diligence that comes with the process.

“Pitcher Partners has a solid reputation in the dealmaking industry, and I’m happy to be named partner and take on this great opportunity to expand my career with this firm,” commented Craig on his appointment.

“Liesl and Stephen’s dedication to comprehending our customers preserves our name for supplying outstanding business knowledge and technical proficiency,” Brendan Britten, Managing Partner of Pitcher Partners in Melbourne, stated. “They will each bring their skills and comprehension of the middle market to our partnership and the direction they have supplied in developing our Corporate Finance practice.”

The Corporate Finance wing of Mergermarket recently released research that Australia’s M&A market has slowed in the first half of this year. The underlying long-term deal fundamentals, on the other hand, remain solid.

Pitcher Partners is committed to providing the best possible service to its clients. With the addition of Malcolm and Craig to its partnership team, it is well-positioned to continue delivering on that promise.
